RUNNNNNING DOWN FIIVVVE STOOOOOOOREYS, spill picture, fluorescent paint, GBW-AG, Munich, 2000, Joachim Melf, Eva Weinmayr
Stairwells offer the greatest height in a building from which to make a drop – and liquid colours are, of course, subject to gravity. This vertical river bed – five storeys of slightly uneven wall –develops its own artistic principles. Fifty litres of fluorescent paintare tipped down an 18 metre high wall, collected at the bottom, thenpoured down again from the top.
